Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach, the area’s only waterway shopping, dining and entertainment complex, is celebrating the upcoming Halloween holiday with its annual BooFest! and Trick or Treat.
BooFest! will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct, 29 in Dockside Village, home to LuLu’s, Greg Norman Australian Grille, Taco Mundo, Crooked Hammock Brewery, the children’s playground and Pepsi Stage.
This family-friendly event includes costume contests for kids and pets, characters, a Dance Party for kids and other kids’ activities. For the kids’ and pets’ costume contests, registration begins at 11 a.m. There is no fee to participate.
The contest starts at noon for children up to age 3. At 1 p.m., the 4 to 7 age group will begin; children ages 8 to 12 will follow at 2 p.m. and the final group will be the pets at 3
p.m. Prizes will be awarded in all categories. At 7 p.m., a free showing of the Halloween favorite “Hocus Pocus” will be shown on thePepsi Stage in Dockside Village. The whole family is invited. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs or borrow one of the complimentary Barefoot Landing chairs to sit and enjoy the movie.
On Monday, October 31 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., participating merchants throughout Barefoot Landing will greet costumed children and provide treats during “Trick or Treat” for children.
