Heading to Myrtle Beach for vacation? After the 60 miles of coastline, Broadway at the Beach is one “must-do” destination all visitors should explore.
Broadway at the Beach is the centerpiece of any trip to Myrtle Beach. It’s South Carolina’s largest entertainment complex and offers something for everyone, from family-friendly attractions to themed eateries and specialty boutiques. Plus, the atmosphere is exciting year-round.
Ripley’s Aquarium Myrtle Beach and WonderWorks are among Broadway at the Beach’s most prized attractions. Both are ideal for families, so that children and adults alike can marvel at the engaging aquatic elements of Ripley’s Aquarium Myrtle Beach and the quirky but fun science of WonderWorks.
Another recommendation for things to do at Broadway at the Beach is zipline across Lake Broadway with Soar and Explore. Their zipline adventure can also be combined with a pirate-themed ropes course challenge, which is really popular with kids. On just about any day, you’ll see speed boats zipping around Lake Broadway.
Pavilion Park at Broadway at the Beach
The little ones have special section of Pavilion Park called the “Fun Park”. Here you can find the traditional kiddie rides such as the Ferris wheel, tea cup rides, Merry-Go-Round carousel, miniature train rides, monster trucks, Myrtle’s Turtles and more.
For the bigger kids, check out the “Action Park”. Adrenaline filled rides such as the 200 ft. long Riptydz Slide, Wave Swinger, Moonraker, the Rock n Roll Express and more are meant to get the heart pumping with exhilaration.
You can purchase ride tickets at the nearby Customer Service Ticket Booths. All rides have minimum/maximum height and weight requirements. Any ride restrictions are noted at the ticket booth and ride entrance. Please read the requirement/restrictions before purchasing tickets.
Broadway at the Beach Restaurants
One can certainly work up an appetite visiting the attractions at Broadway at the Beach. Thankfully, there are 20 plus restaurants to choose from. If you’re visiting with the kiddos, Johnny Rocket’s is a good choice. There is also a pizza restaurant, plenty of hamburger restaurants, along with sushi and seafood eateries.
Looking for a sit down meal? Try Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville (the coconut shrimp is dynamite), Landry’s, Paula Deen’s, Sweet Carolina’s and one of the newest restaurants is The Hangout. Kids can eat FREE at The Hangout, with the purchase of an adult entrée til 4 p.m. Kids choices include: Kids Burger, Kids Hot Dog, or Kids Mac N Cheese. Ask your server for details.
Surprisingly, when we have friends and family visiting, we like the cheeseburgers at Wahlburgers, must be the “government cheese” they use! Hard Rock Cafe offers dining with a side of rock n roll.

Broadway at the Beach Shops
With 80 shops to choose from, visitors can enjoy one-of-a-kind local shops and boutiques along with a host of nationally recognized shopping names. The kids will love building their own stuffed animal friend at Build-A-Bear.
A favorite shop to explore at the Broadway at the Beach Entertainment Complex is Retro Active. Its home to pop culture items from the 70s, 80s and 90s. If you like kites, visit Klig’s Kites, if your lucky, on summer nights you will be entertained by the “Funny Man” as you enter the store, he’s the guy with the goofy smile and you can’t miss him. If you’re looking for a unique souvenir, stop by the Boardwalk Winery. They make, label, and sell their own brand of wine. It’s like taking home a bit of your Myrtle Beach vacation in a bottle.
Every time I go to Broadway at the Beach, It’Sugar is a definite stop, have to get my Dr. Pepper jelly bean fix. If you’re a biker, stop by the Harley-Davidson shop.
If it’s been a few years since you’ve visited Broadway at the Beach, you may want to check the new shops along Key West Village. If you’re a Coastal Carolina University fan, the Teal Nation store offers officially licensed CCU merchandise, including clothing, accessories, home décor, and gift items. Coastal Carolina University overcame the odds and won the 2016 College World Series.
Festivals, Entertainment and Music at Broadway at the Beach
There are so many things to see and do at Broadway at the Beach, including one of Myrtle Beach’s best nightlife scenes, I’m sure you’ll easy see why it’s one of the top attractions on the Grand Strand.
The KidzTime Festival is typically held in March and features live entertainment, free activities and character appearances. Great American Summer Nights Fest starts in June and goes until the end of August. Great American Summer Nights features live music, strolling entertainers, dance parties, fireworks and more!
Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations are held every year and are a big hit with the kids. During the Halloween season, the shops are known for having plenty of candy available for any trick-or-treater’s that show up. Santa always makes an appearance at Christmas time. The annual tree lighting ceremony at Broadway at the Beach always draws large crowds.
For the older crowd, The Avenue (formerly Celebrity Square) is home to restaurants such as Dave & Buster’s, American Tap House, Wahlburgers, and a new location of Hard Rock Cafe. The Avenue is headquarters for night clubs, restaurants, annual events and just plain fun. Whether you want to dance the night away or sip on a flight of beer, there’s something for you right here!
The monster Halloween Bash features one of the biggest costume contests in the area along and the New Year’s Eve celebration features live music, ball drop, drink specials and champagne toasts.

You want live music? Many of the night clubs on The Avenue have live nightly music. Most nights there is a cover charge to get in but if you plan on staying a few hours, it’s well worth it.
