Myrtle Beach’s Parks, Recreation and Sports Tourism Department offer FREE movie Friday admission to exciting movies starting at 3:00 p.m. each Friday.
Looking for a little Friday wind down from the week? Head on over to the General Robert H. Reed Rec. Center in Market Common, admission to the movie is free of charge. Popcorn and soft drinks cost one dollar each.

General Robert H. Reed Recreation Center, offers a variety of FREE or very inexpensive games year-round.
If you are new to the area, this is a perfect way to meet and make new friends.
Below are the games offered, they are broken down into daily activities. A few charge a small fee but most are free of charge to play. Any questions, please call Call (843) 918-2381.
Daily
Billiards is popular throughout the year. The recreation center host seasonal 8-ball and 9-ball leagues. The pool tables are open for free play any time during business hours when leagues are not scheduled.
Monday
Bridge
9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Bridge is a trick-taking game using a standard 52 card deck. It is played by four players in two competing partnerships, which partners sitting opposite of each other. Millions of people play bridge worldwide in clubs, tournaments, online, or with friends it home, making it one of the most popular card games, particularly among seniors.
Chess and Checkers
6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Chess and Checkers are strategic games that are free and fun, and free coffee is available. Bring a partner and play with deluxe Staunton-style chess pieces.
Table Tennis
6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Table Tennis playtime costs $2. Annual memberships are available for $10 per year for city residents and $20 for non-city residents. All are welcome to join this competitive group.
Tuesday
Mahjong
11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Mahjong is a Chinese tile game that is simple to learn and play.
Hand and Foot
11:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Hand and Foot is a variation of Canasta and is played with four to six standard decks. It is ideal for two players, but there are options for four to six players. Each player is dealt two hands, and the first set of cards is considered the hand. The second set is considered the foot.
Pinochle
6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Pinochle is a trick-taking card game typically with two to four participants and played with a 48-card deck. Players score points by trick-taking and also by forming combinations of cards into melds.
Wednesday
Bingo
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m
Participants must bring a prize valued at $1 in order to play (no playtime charge).
Canasta
11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Canasta is a card game of the rummy family that is believed to be a variant of 500 Rum. Although many variations are possible for two, three, five or six players, it is most commonly played with a group of four, split into two teams, while using two standard decks of cards. The object is to make melds of seven cards of the same rank and “go out” by playing all cards in their hand.
Thursday
Hand and Foot
