The Calabash Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade marks 28 years of embracing community unity with a charming small-town procession, performances by dancers, traditional carols, warm cocoa, and a cheerful holiday visit with Santa Claus.
The heart of the Calabash community tradition is a stunning 28-foot Frasier Fir tree.
Which is grown in North Carolina and adorned with thousands of lights by the Callahan of Calabash team.
The Calabash Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade will be held on Friday, Dec. 1, at 6:00 p.m.
The event features:
- A festive parade
- Deb Browning – a local area singer and songwriter performing three songs from her Christmas CD, “Here Comes Christmas.”
- A performance by the West Brunswick High School Dance Team during the parade.
- Enjoy the Shoreline Dance Company kindergarten group and the Kit Kat Dancers on the Main Stage.
- A visit with Santa, who will arrive at the Tree Lighting aboard the Calabash Firetruck led by the dedicated firefighters from Calabash Fire Station 12-1.
- The WBHS Key Club will make the event special for children. Children can tell Santa their wishes and send him a letter. Kids can drop off their wish lists at the designated Calabash North Pole mailbox next to the Calabash Christmas Tree.
- Kids will have the opportunity to create a special blend called magical mix at the Reindeer Food Station. They can then sprinkle it outside on Christmas Eve to assist Santa’s reindeer in finding their home.
