Did you know that you can fish for free on certain days of the year in South Carolina?
For 2024, Memorial Day, May 27, and July 4, (freshwater only) residents and visitors can fish without a license at South Carolina state owned public lakes. You can view all the available lakes here.
Don’t have fishing tackle? No problem, you can still participate. Many fishing sites across the state participate in the Tackle Loaner Program, in which you can check out a rod and reel.
