I’m a nurse by trade, so I love it when hospitals provide free screening services. There are so many people who wouldn’t otherwise get these valuable health screenings.
This Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m., Loris Healthcare System is hosting a free health & wellness fair at Myrtle Beach Mall.
Free health screenings include:
- Blood pressure
- Body mass index
- Pulse oximetry screen (how much oxygen is in your blood)
- Blood sugar screening
- Physical therapy
- Hand screening
You can also have your cholesterol, your heart, your thyroid, or your prostate tested for a fee ($10 to $25, depending on the test). If you’re planning to have your cholesterol tested, don’t eat or drink anything for 12 hours before your test.
