On Saturday, August 19, 2017, astronomer and former NASA consultant Kevin Manning will conduct a seminar titled The Universe & All American Total Solar Eclipse at Chapin Memorial Library. Admission is FREE. Space is limited to 75 participants (ages 8+).
The seminar, which will begin promptly at 7 p.m., will start inside. Manning will discuss elements of the universe from the very small to the very large, and how to prepare for the total solar eclipse on August 21. The discussion will be accompanied by photos and videos of the universe and of a solar eclipse. Next, you’ll go outside (weather permitting), where you’ll be able to look through a powerful telescope.
The doors open at 6:30 p.m.
