What Channel is the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop On?
Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024 is broadcast on ABC at 8 p.m. EST.
Live entertainment will be provided by:
- Green Day, an iconic American rock band
- Thirty Seconds to Mars, led by Jared Leto and his brother Shannon
- Janelle Monáe, a ten time Grammy Award nominee
- Renée Rapp, actress and singer from Charlotte, NC
- Coco Jones, singer-songwriter and actress
- Aqua, Europop band, best known for their 1997 single “Barbie Girl”
- Ellie Goulding, an English singer and songwriter

You don’t need cable (or even a TV) to watch the ball drop. A free live webcast will begin at 6 p.m. at timessquarenyc.org/times-square-new-years-eve/nye-live-webcast.
Other Live New Year’s Eve Shows
You also have the option to tune in to the live broadcast of the New Year’s Eve ball drop with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen on CNN. The show will kick off at 8 p.m. as they go live from Times Square, and at 12:30 a.m., Don Lemon and Alisyn Camerota will take over in New Orleans for the Central Time Zone countdown.
Another option is New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, hosted by Elle King and Rachel Smith. This five-hour long celebration starts at 7:30 p.m. ET on CBS. Or you can stream it on Paramount+ if you are a Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscriber.
