Join the Horry County Museum as they celebrate textiles throughout March at the Horry County Museum! Admission is FREE.
Join the Horry County Museum on March 13th at 2:00 p.m. for a presentation by local quilter Louise Veverka.
Have you ever been curious about the jargon quilters use, such as flimsy, sandwich, batting, backing, sashing, cornerstones, and abbreviations like HST, WOF, LOF?
This workshop serves as a beginner’s guide to quilt block construction, exploring the various pieces and terminology commonly used by quilters. Participants will delve into the world of piecing techniques such as half-square triangles, strips, and squares in a square, as well as learn how to create classic blocks like log cabins, courtyard steps, and cathedral windows. By the end of the session, attendees will gain a solid understanding of quilting jargon and become acquainted with popular block designs.
