To help Lowe’s customers prepare their homes and businesses for this year’s Atlantic hurricane season, Lowe’s storm experts are available to discuss must-have severe weather supplies and essential items available at Lowe’s. Lowe’s priority is to be there for communities and help when we’re needed most – before, during and after severe weather.

When bad weather strikes, it’s important to be prepared. Customers are encouraged to avoid the rush when storms hit by stocking up in advance and creating a storm preparedness kit with essential items to keep everyone safe at home—especially during power outages.
Essential items available at Lowe’s include:
- Sand and plywood
- Reusable ice packs and water
- Portable, self-powered light sources including flashlights
- Rechargeable batteries, extension cords, gas or diesel fuel containers, portable radios
- Coolers and ice chests, portable power banks
- Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors, fire extinguishers
- Bungee cords, tarps, ground anchor systems
- Portable generators
As for Lowe’s severe weather response, in addition to pre-staged supplies, Lowe’s Emergency Command Center in North Carolina and strategically located distribution facilities allow us to expedite additional emergency supplies to our store communities.
Lowe’s also has pre-staged trucks in the region to respond quickly to a variety of impacts from hurricanes, including power outages and wind damage. In addition, truckloads of generators, gas cans and bottled water are strategically positioned in the area.
