Kangaroo Express would like to thank our hometown heroes by giving away free ROO cups to an entire group of Myrtle Beach hometown heroes. The ROO Cup is Kangaroo Express’ collectible cup that is refillable with any fountain or frozen beverage for just 25 cents through Sept. 30, 2014.
To help us choose a winner, please nominate a group/department/unit of Hometown Heroes by leaving a comment below telling us why you think they should win (feel free to nominate your own group). We’ll need the name of the organization, the specific department or unit, and the number of people in the group (if you know).
Eligible winners include firefighters, police officers, paramedics, military units, doctors, nurses, hospital departments, and teachers (since school is out, you will need to be able to provide us with one central mailing address and be able to distribute the cups from there). If I left anyone out that you think should be considered, please feel free to nominate them, as well. Also, we’re including groups from surrounding cities that have Kangaroo Express locations (Surfside Beach, Conway, and Murrells Inlet).
Nominations will end at 5:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, June 17. The winner will be announced on Wednesday morning.

Horry County Police would be my nomination, great bunch of very hard working people that deserve our utmost respect, and consideration. They put their lives on the line for all of us each and every time they go on duty

I would like to nominate the 911 operators of Horry County that are located in Conway, SC. My sister has been one for over 10 years and these guys are unsung heros of Horry County. They deal with everything and have to stay calm and have a wealth of knowledge available at a drop of a hat.
I know there are two shifts but am not sure how many are on a shift. Of course I’m recommending the shift my sister works on. Her name is Donna Marie Allen. If her group is selected, just email me and I will have her get in contact with you.
