It’s been called the “perfect” food by many. Honey has been around for thousands of years. Honey has been found in ancient Egyptian tombs, a food for those entering the afterlife.
Many of us use honey in baking and to sweeten our coffee and tea. Some folks enjoy honey with biscuits. Honey has been used for medicinal purposes. Spreading a thin layer of honey over a wound is said to promote healing. A teaspoon or two taken by mouth, is said to quite a cough and sooth a sore throat.
One of these local area honey makers is Conway based, Mountain Man Honey and Goods.
Mountain Man Honey and Goods is a family business and harvest honey from their own beehives.
Selling the best Raw Honey South Carolina has to offer.
Mountain Man Raw Honey
Mountain Man Raw Honey is pure, raw and unpasteurized to give you the absolute best product. From their hives to you just the way it should be. The only processing it goes through is a light filtration to clear out any imperfections and or residue of bees wax. Just one taste and you’ll agree, its the best honey around!
Mountain Man Bee-Whipped Southern Spun Honey
Bee-Whipped Southern Spun Honey is a Mountain Man Honey and Goods specialty. An already perfect honey, they take advantage of the spun honey’s infinite shelf life and transform any crystallized or granulated honey into a mouth watering experience. The results are still a pure raw honey. However, it is now creamy in texture. Delicious and healthy just as is, Mountain Man then add numerous flavors to make an amazing product even better.
Some of the ingredients they add to flavor up their Bee-Whipped Southern Spun Honey are cinnamon, lemon oil extract, blueberry extract, natural apple flavor and organic cherry juice, just to name a few.
According to Julie, one of the owners at Mountain Man Honey and Goods, she is in the process of producing several informative videos for remote learning and homeschool students. When they become available to the public, we will update this article.
You may purchase their products directly from their physical storefront, website, or from the several farmers markets they participate in.

Beach Bees of Garden City
Beach Bees has been raising bees and selling honey on the Grand Strand for almost a decade.
It’s a family business with bees in their backyard and honey is sold on their webstore or in person by appointment. Bees are kept in one place and pollinate our neighborhood by the marsh. Depending on the time of year you buy Beach Bees honey, it can be as dark as molasses or bright and light – they are in tune to the seasonality of our local flowers and foliage.
Most orders can be made on the Beach Bees website, but customers can call at (843) 446-0691 to schedule a pick up or a visit to see the bees from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Mon-Sunday.
Beach Bees initial goal was straightforward: to support the well-being of bees. Driven by a duty to safeguard the environment for future generations, they made a commitment to bee conservation. Bees play a critical role in our ecosystem, and their absence would make it difficult for us to cultivate vegetables and admire the beauty of blooming flowers.
Beach Bees has made significant progress since starting with just one hive a few years ago, as they now manage seven hives and are continuing to expand.
