On Saturday, October 1, 2011, Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach is holding its 7th Annual Paws Across the Water Duck Derby to benefit the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach. Admission is free.
During the Duck Derby, approximatly 5,000 previously-adopted rubber ducks will be dropped into the Intercoastal Waterway and will race for prizes for their owners. The duck adoptions are already closed for this year, but I’m sure donations will still be accepted.
The Duck Derby begins at 11:00 a.m. The actual race time is still TBD. Other festivities include music, food, games, and kids’ activities.
