On Saturday, October 6, 2012, Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach is holding its 8th Annual Paws Across the Water Duck Derby to benefit the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach. Admission is free.
During the Duck Derby, approximately 5,000 previously-adopted rubber ducks will be dropped into the Intracoastal Waterway and will race for prizes for their owners. You can adopt a duck for $5 on the Humane Society Web site.
The Duck Derby begins at 11:00 a.m. The actual race time is still TBD. Other festivities include music, food, games, vendors, and kids’ activities.
