On March 23-25, 2018, the annual Saltwater Highland Games & Heritage Festival will take place at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex. Tickets to the Games are $13 for adults in advance; $15 at the gate. Kids’ tickets (ages 6-12) are $5. Senior tickets (65 +), Military (ID required), and Student (ID required) tickets are $8 in advance; $10 at the gate. Two-day tickets (Saturday and Sunday) are $25 for adults; $10 for kids; $15 for Seniors, Military, and Students.
On Friday, there will be a Ceilidh (pronounced “Kay-lee”) Welcome Party from 6 to 10 p.m. Admission to the party is FREE. There will be live entertainment, food vendors, a beer garden, and drink stations.
The Games and Festival, which run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, will include athletic competitions, a “Clan Village”, a Celtic marketplace, Scottish whisky tastings, kids’ games, vendors, a beer garden, live entertainment, and more.
The games will consist of men and women in kilts competing in feats of strength. Competitions will include Turning the Caber, Sheaf Toss, Braemar Stone Throw, Clachneart (Open Stone), Heavy Weight Throw, Light Weight Throw, Heavy Hammer Throw, and the Weight Over Bar Toss.
