Socastee Performing Arts Presents CATS, The Musical

Socastee High School Performing Arts is pleased to announce a 4-day run of CATS, The Broadway Musical, March 12 – 15.

As one of Broadway’s longest running shows, CATS is a Broadway classic and international sensation. CATS is known for its extraordinary makeup and spectacular costumes and the Socastee production will be no exception. Costumes, wigs and make-up are all being created by our in-house talented team. Add a dramatic set, lights, dancing, mystery, and more for an unforgettable show.

This production will include a cast and crew of more than 100 students from Socastee High, Forestbrook Middle, Socastee Middle, Lakewood Elementary, Scholar’s Academy, and AAST.

CATS is set amongst a larger-than-life junkyard playground and is alive with purr-fect felines, the Jellicle Cats. They come out to play on one special night of the year and tell their stories one by one for a chance to reborn.

The musical is produced by Farrah Beaudry, Socastee High Choral Director and Matt McCarty, Socastee Director of Dramatic Arts and directed by Blayne Perry. Choreographer, Abigail Perry and Music Director, Kevin Jones round out the accomplished team.

Socastee’s Performing Arts Department continues to grow and excel, leading the way in high school theater. CATS promises to follow the tradition of past outstanding productions at Socastee; such as The Addams Family, Beauty & the Beast, Big Fish, The Little Mermaid, Hairspray, Shrek, Tarzan, Legally Blonde, and Seussical the Musical.

CATS, The Broadway Musical will be performed at Socastee High School, 4900 Socastee Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC.
Show dates & times are:
• Thursday and Friday, March 12th – 13th: 7pm.
• Saturday and Sunday, March 14 – 15: 3pm and 7pm.
Tickets are $12, General Seating; $16 Cat’s Meow; and $20 Purrfect View.
