Theatre of the Republic will hold open auditions for roles in ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’

Perhaps one of the biggest “cult” favorites ever, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, has entertained millions of late night movie goers over the past nearly 50 years. Here is your chance to win a part in this production presented by Theatre of the Republic in Conway.

Open auditions for all The Rocky Horror Picture Show roles will be held Monday, August 16, starting at 7 p.m. Registration and sign-in starts promptly at 6:30 p.m. For more details regarding auditioning, please visit their website.

You must be age 17 and up to audition.

After a several weeks of rehearsal, the production will premier October 21, with more shows following on October 22, 23, 24, 28, 29, 30 and 31.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a “musical comedy horror film” that first debuted in movie theatres in 1975. The story centers around a young engaged couple whose car breaks down in the rain near a castle where they seek a telephone to call for help. Unbeknownst to them, the castle is occupied by Dr. Frank N. Furter and his merry band of outrageous characters. What ensues is a hilarious couple of hours non-stop plot twists that keep you entertained during the shows duration.
