When laundry day rolls around, give a “Sudster” your laundry and relax. Local Sudsters will wash, dry, fold and even hang your clean laundry.
What is a Sudster?
A Sudster is an independent contractor who will wash, dry, fold, and deliver laundry, all for the incredibly low price of $1 per pound.
Around the Myrtle Beach/Grand Strand area, there are approximately 15 Sudsters who take the laundry day woes away from you.
Local Sudsters use their own laundry detergent and supplies to get the job completed.
Sudshare does your laundry
Laurie, is the Lead Sudster for the Myrtle Beach/Carolina Forest area, and says her laundry business is booming!
She became as Sudster in September 2021, and has acquired numerous regular customers in the past year and a half. She states that while most of her clients are families, she has elderly couples and traveling nurses that use her service.
Using the SudShare app (links below), her clients schedule a pick-up and she takes care of the rest.
Laurie prides herself on the next-day service she provides.

All local Sudsters belong to a laundry service called SudShare.
SudShare has been renamed Poplin.
SudShare was started in 2018, by a couple in Maryland who wanted to connect those who dreaded doing laundry to those who wanted to make extra money and didn’t mind doing laundry. The service is now available in over 400 cities.
SudShare has a vetting process for those looking to join their service that includes:
- A smoke-free home
- Have their own washing machine and dryer
- Access to a drying rack, clothesline, or something to air-dry clothes
- A car or some way to pick-up and deliver
- A Basic Bathroom Scale
- Large Plastic Bags
- Must provide a social security number and consent to a background check
